100g of dried lavender buds -– this is the flower buds only as any stem debris has been removed.
Dried Lavender has never been more popular. It has been used for centuries to cleanse, purify, sooth stress and as a perfume. Some of its very many uses – some of which are listed below:
Weddings – throw it as confetti instead of rice, which is banned at many wedding venues, because it is difficult to clean up and it attracts rodents. Lavender is perfect as a wedding toss as it is fragrant and environmentally friendly. Tie up approx. a tablespoon of lavender buds into 6”squares of taffeta netting or tulle secured with a silk ribbon. Distribute these to the guests as they leave the wedding and after unwrapping the bundle, they can throw the Lavender as they would the traditional rice.
Sprinkle lavender buds on the gift table, around the base of the candle holders, or display it in a decorative jar on each table and then give them away as keepsakes. It also makes a great wedding favour inside a mini-organza bag – choose a colour to match your wedding scheme. Your guests can take them home and place them in their drawers or in their pillowcases. Add a little tag with your names and dates of the wedding.
Use dried lavender in your wedding ceremony –have the bridesmaids toss dried lavender buds along the aisle in front of the bride. As they step on the aromatic buds, a gentle, calming fragrance greets the bride and makes wedding day jitters disappear!
A nice touch is to add a pinch of dried lavender to the Wedding Invitations or Thank you Cards before you send them.
Use it in home-made soaps, shampoos, candles and sachets for scenting clothes. It is a natural moth repellant as well as a natural relaxant and stress reliever – so place some in a self tied organza bags (see separate auction or ask me for details) and place in your drawers instead of using moth balls – it has a much more pleasant smell.
Lavender is said to help induce restful sleep – so again pop some into an organza bag, and place inside your pillow case to help you get a good night’s sleep, or throw a handful into your bath water and relax.
You can use lavender as a natural deodorizer by sprinkling the lavender buds on carpets, under couch cushions, around pets sleeping areas, etc. and when you vacuum it up, you fragrance your home with lavender. Or place in an open bowl to enhance any room in the house.
Make scented ornaments by using a mixture of dried lavender, broken cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves (see other listings for these – or ask for details). Mix this together and tie approximately 1/2 cup in a double sheet of netting. You can add lavender, cinnamon and clove oils to make the mixture more potent. You can then decorate the netting to match the holiday.
Please note that this lavender can be used in cooking – and it in fact comes with Kosher certification. Lavender is very versatile and has unique qualities and it will enhance sweet and savoury dishes alike. It can be used in many forms to fragrance and flavour.
Please note that this lavender is a light grey/blue colour – it is not a bright blue colour which some customers expect. Please note that when lavender is a bright blue colour it is usually because it has been artificially dyed and this effects the fragrance of the lavender.
I have various sizes of organza bags available in a variety of colours. Ask for details.
I can sell any quantity you like – from 50g upwards. Please see my other listings and for a quantity not listed, please ask. Special prices for quantities 1 kilo upwards.
